ScotLend appoints Mikie Butcher as senior business development manager

Specialist bridging lender ScotLend has appointed Mikie Butcher (pictured) as senior business development manager, extending its broker support across London and the South East.

The move comes as the lender continues its rapid growth since launching in September 2024. In the past year, ScotLend has secured a £20m facility from Shawbrook to support its national expansion and increased its AVM threshold to 75% LTV. The appointment marks the latest step in building a team and footprint to match this trajectory.

Based in London, Butcher will focus on strengthening relationships with brokers across the capital and the South East.

He brings extensive experience in specialist finance and a strong track record in supporting brokers with complex bridging cases.

David Travers, director at ScotLend, said: “When we launched ScotLend, our aim was to build a lender with Scottish roots but national ambition.

“We’ve grown quickly, backed by Shawbrook’s support and an appetite to do things differently. Bringing Mikie into the team is another big step forward.

“He knows the London and South East broker market inside out, and he fits our way of working – straight talking, practical, and focused on getting deals done. We’re delighted to have him on board.”

ScotLend continues to promote its position as the UK’s “no-drama lender”. With no postcode restrictions, a one-hour enquiry response promise, and a commitment to keeping terms consistent once agreed, the lender is gaining traction with brokers who value certainty as much as speed.
