LSL hosts industry forum to drive collaboration in new homes delivery

LSL Property Services recently held its seventh annual New Homes Forum, bringing together about 160 people from the UK housing market.

The event included housebuilders, mortgage brokers, lenders, building societies, surveyors, housing associations, and representatives from the Home Builders Federation (HBF) and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

The forum was supported by several high street lenders.

Craig Hall, director of strategic partnerships at LSL, led panel sessions focused on how the industry can work together to deliver more new homes and make homebuying easier.

Discussions looked at affordable housing, energy efficiency and new trends in the sector.

Rob Owens, head of research at LSL’s surveying business e.surv, led talks on valuation data and trends in new homes.

The Government has a target to build 1.5 million new homes during this parliament and is reforming the planning system.

With no replacement for Help to Buy, the lending and mortgage industry is being encouraged to create new products and services to support demand and give developers more confidence to build.

LSL’s financial services, land and new homes, and surveying teams organised the event.

The forum highlighted the group’s reach and knowledge in the UK property market.

Craig Hall said: “Our annual forum is an important event in the new homes and lending industry calendar, bringing together all the key players to discuss how we as an industry can support the development of much-needed new housing stock in the UK.

“Creating and developing new products and services is a key factor in enhancing demand.

“The combination of the market leading positions across our businesses means that we are perfectly positioned to help support this critical plank of the UK economy.”
