Mercantile Trust has promoted Tara Evans (pictured) to chief executive officer, marking a significant milestone in her 23-year career with the company’s parent group, Norfolk Capital Group.
Her appointment as CEO reflects her contribution to the business and its growth over the years.
She officially takes up the CEO role from today, 1st October 2025.
She succeeds Debbie Burton, who will now focus on leading another Norfolk Capital Group company, Central Trust.
Evans said: “Since taking over as Operations Director, I’ve been building the knowledge and expertise I need to eventually become Chief Executive.
“It’s not really a new role in the sense of immediate changes, but I’m incredibly proud of myself and the whole team.
“I may have realised my dream, but there’s still so much work ahead to grow the business. We’ve come a long way, but we want more people to know what we do and how unique we are.”
