VM Group appoints Frederick Williams as CFO

Frederick Williams (pictured) has been appointed chief financial officer (CFO) of VM Group, joining the business with more than 29 years’ experience.

Williams’ scope at VM Group includes finance, procurement, strategic planning, strategic investments and project management.

He will focus on ensuring the organisation’s support functions are as effective as possible while strengthening financial and strategic planning functions in Jamaica, the UK and beyond.

His remit encapsulates VM’s main subsidiaries, including VM Finance, VM Building Society, VM Investments & VM Wealth, VM Pensions, VM Money Transfer and VM Property Services.

Williams said: “The business started as The Victoria Mutual Building Society almost 150 years ago and maintains its unique culture of mutuality, being owned by members.

“VM’s distinctive principles of care and a laser focus on delivering real value to members across all business lines is admirable. From a UK perspective, my role as a director is to support VM Finance in continuing to deliver excellent development financing solutions and drive its growth, while ensuring that the firm’s financial analysis, reporting and controls are in place in order to meet its regulatory obligations as a part of the group.

“Having been given the opportunity to leverage my core financial strengths and experiences, I’m eager to work closely with the strategic business unit heads to provide support using in-depth data analysis to drive strategic decisions.”

Courtney Campbell, president and CEO of VM Group, added: “Frederick is deeply experienced and knowledgeable and he will add an invaluable layer of strategic advice and guidance.

“His analytical approach and pleasant demeanor are a winning formula when it comes to a role of this stature and we welcome him on board with open arms.”
