Zoopla launches affordability tool to boost new-build leads for homebuyers

Zoopla has launched a new affordability tool, which is now being trialled by five major homebuilders: Taylor Wimpey, Persimmon, Lovell Homes, Miller Homes and Keepmoat.

The tool lets serious buyers quickly check what they can afford and then matches them to new homes based on their budget, wish list and if they qualify for buying schemes like Deposit Unlock or Own Rate Reducer.

In a recent survey, 72% of people planning a move told Zoopla they were more likely to choose a new build if a buying scheme was available.

The process is designed for the new homes market, capturing data on deposit, maximum budget, moving timeframe and buyer wish list.

This is generating higher quality leads for builders, with the aim of faster reservations and better informed buyers.

Zoopla said the tool is part of its wider investment in growing new-build interest.

Over the past year, the company reported a 30% rise in new homes buyer leads.

With the number of resale properties for sale up compared to last year,

Zoopla said there is more competition for buyers’ attention.

The tool aims to boost new-build interest among Zoopla visitors, with research showing 70% of buyers were open to new builds, but only 7% actively searched for them.

Alex Rose, commercial director at Zoopla, said: “We have made great strides in driving greater performance for home builders over 2025 through a range of product innovations.

“Builders tell us we are the only portal delivering more new homes leads.

“This new affordability tool is a major initiative for the new homes market and showcases our ongoing innovation to more actively promote new-build properties and their benefits to the millions of visitors to the Zoopla website every month.”

Rose added: “We are driving a strong return on investment for our homebuilder customers and this is further evidence of our intent to be the essential marketing partner for the new homes industry.

“This is about generating applicant leads today but also enabling homebuilders to expand their reach and build their brand with consumers.”
