Zurich UK has announced the appointment of James Tait (pictured) as head of Zurich corporate risk, succeeding Cindy Warden, who will retire at the end of the year after a 35-year career with the company.
Tait will join in January 2026 and be based across Zurich’s Swindon and London offices.
Tait was most recently CEO for North America, APAC and UK/Europe at UnderwriteMe, where he oversaw international expansion and new business growth.
He brings extensive experience in the UK protection market, having previously served as head of protection for Pacific Life Re, leading its UK and Ireland reinsurance business.
Alex Koslowski, head of UK Life at Zurich, said: “We are delighted to welcome James to Zurich Corporate Risk. Building on the rapid growth achieved under Cindy’s leadership, James’s experience and strategic insight will be instrumental as we continue our ambition to become a top three Group Protection provider in the UK.
“I would also like to thank Cindy for her outstanding leadership and dedication over the past three decades, during which she transformed Zurich Corporate Risk into one of the market’s leading players.”
Warden said: “It has been a privilege to lead Zurich Corporate Risk and to work with such an exceptional team.
“I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together and confident that James will continue to build on this success as the business grows further.”
Tait added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Zurich at such an exciting time for the Corporate Risk business.
“The division is a vital part of Zurich’s global growth strategy, and I look forward to working with the team to continue its momentum, supporting employers and their people with innovative protection solutions.”
