66% of completions were for rent, including social, affordable and intermediate rent, which was similar to the previous six years.

92% of affordable homes delivered in England were new build, excluding unknowns, in line with the previous three years.

Local authorities delivered 10,480 affordable homes, or 16% of all completions.

This was the highest recorded value since 1991-92.
