Hanley Economic Building Society has named Ian Henley (pictured) as its next chair, taking over from Nick Jordan who steps down at the end of 2025.
Henley starts the role on 1st January 2026, subject to regulatory approval.
Henley is currently chair of the risk committee at Hanley Economic Building Society.
He brings over 40 years’ experience in banking and financial services, including senior roles in governance, risk management and strategic oversight.
Henley said: “It’s a privilege to be appointed Chair of an institution that has been part of the fabric of this community for more than 170 years.
“Under Nick’s leadership, the Society has been transformed and is in a strong position to continue serving its members and the region for many years to come.
“I look forward to working with the Board and executive team to build on this strong foundation and further enhance the Society’s contribution to its members and the communities it serves.”
Jordan said: “Serving as Chair of this historic mutual building society in Stoke-on-Trent for the past eight years has been an immense privilege.
“During this period, we have achieved significant growth, undertaken a fundamental review and focus of our business, and delivered an extensive programme to increase our outreach and support for local communities.
“I wish The Hanley every success in continuing to deliver on its core purpose and am confident that it remains in the safe hands of the executive team and the Board.”
