Survey Shack has joined the 21st cohort of the Geovation Accelerator Programme, run by Ordnance Survey and HM Land Registry.
The programme supports founders using location and property data to address issues in the sector.
Survey Shack was one of three start-ups chosen for Geovation’s proptech track.
Over six months, the team will get support with customers, technology, business models, intellectual property, teams and funding.
The business has already seen use of its app for guided property inspections carried out by buyers, sellers and agents.
The app uses visual cues and educational prompts from property surveying experts, alongside technology, to help users assess a home’s condition.
Survey Shack’s Genie service, included with the premium package for under £100, connects users with a professional surveyor for post-inspection advice.
Reports generated by the app are designed to give early information about a property, helping buyers and sellers move forward sooner.
Survey Shack’s inclusion in the latest cohort comes as new Government proposals aim to speed up the homebuying process in the UK.
The app is intended to help reduce sales falling through due to late survey results, supporting the Government’s aim of improving efficiency in the sector.
Brett Ray (pictured, left), founding partner and CEO at Survey Shack, said: “We are delighted that Survey Shack has been included in the prestigious Geovation Accelerator Programme.
“With a mission to transform the property inspection process through expert led, data-driven insights and smart technology, we are excited to be part of the future of PropTech and the improvement of the homebuying and selling process in the UK.”
Lynne Nicholson, deputy director for data at HM Land Registry, said: “The start-ups selected for the PropTech track are tackling long-standing challenges in property with compassion, fresh thinking and practical innovation.
“From empowering leaseholders to improving visibility of property condition, these teams are helping to instil greater confidence in the property market.
“Their work supports HM Land Registry’s mission to enhance transparency and efficiency – and we’re proud to accelerate their journey as they bring data-driven solutions to life.”
