Barclays cuts 3-year fixed mortgage rates with lowest now at 3.70%

Barclays has announced further rate reductions across its residential mortgage range, with the most notable cuts applied to its 3-year fixed products.

The changes, which come into effect from Tuesday 16th December, see rates reduced by as much as 0.29%.

Within its purchase-only range, Barclays’ Premier 3-year fixed at 60% LTV with an £899 product fee has been cut from 3.97% to 3.70%, making it the lender’s lowest available rate.

A 3-year fixed at 60% LTV with no product fee has fallen from 4.12% to 3.84%, while the 75% LTV equivalent with an £899 fee has reduced from 4.14% to 3.85%.

The lender has also made reductions across its 5-year fixed range for purchase customers. At 60% LTV, the Premier 5-year fixed with an £899 fee has fallen from 3.81% to 3.78%, while the standard equivalent has been cut from 3.82% to 3.79%.

The no-fee option at the same LTV has reduced from 3.92% to 3.88%. At 75% LTV, the £899 fee product has dropped from 3.90% to 3.86%, and the no-fee version from 4.00% to 3.94%.

Green Home products have also seen cuts, with the 5-year fixed at 60% LTV with an £899 fee reduced from 3.72% to 3.69%, and the 75% LTV equivalent falling from 3.80% to 3.76%.

For remortgage customers, Barclays has reduced its 3-year fixed products, with the 60% LTV deal carrying a £999 fee cut from 3.90% to 3.75%, and the 75% LTV option reduced from 4.03% to 3.86%.

Existing borrowers also benefit from lower pricing through the lender’s existing customer reward range.

The EMC Reward 3-year fixed at 60% LTV with a £999 fee has been cut from 3.90% to 3.74%, while the 75% LTV equivalent has reduced from 4.03% to 3.85%.
