Moneyfacts releases 2026 Star Ratings for home and landlord insurance

Moneyfacts has announced the 2026 Annual Star Ratings for home insurance, home emergency cover and landlord home insurance, reflecting detailed product assessments across the UK general insurance market.

Across buildings insurance, 85 products achieved a Five-Star Rating, with 37 receiving Four Stars and 22 awarded Three Stars.

Within contents insurance, 86 products were awarded Five Stars, alongside 34 Four-Star and 23 Three-Star ratings.

Each policy was assessed against more than 140 data points.

In the home emergency category, the number of qualifying products fell year on year.

For 2026, Moneyfacts issued 85 Five-Star Ratings, 34 Four-Star Ratings and 26 Three-Star Ratings, using analysis of more than 40 product fields.

Landlord home insurance products were evaluated across more than 120 criteria.

The outcome was 21 Five-Star Ratings, 19 Four-Star Ratings and 19 Three-Star Ratings.

Moneyfacts Star Ratings recognise products offering the most comprehensive cover and strongest feature sets relative to competitors.

The methodology is designed to provide consumers and intermediaries with an independent benchmark of policy depth and quality.

According to Moneyfacts research, nine in 10 consumers said an impartial Star Rating influences their decision when selecting a financial services product.
