Senior living developer Charterpoint has put in a planning application for an 80-bed care home in the North of Peterborough.

The three-storey building is set to have en-suite bedrooms, lounges, dining areas, a cinema, hairdresser, café/bistro with terrace, and activity room, as well as other facilities.

There will be gardens, patios and communal terraces on the first and second floors, plus 33 car parking spaces.

The site will be accessed off Newborough Road. The building has been designed by Anotherkind Architects.

Giles Nursey, managing director at Charterpoint, said: “Our proposed new care home is in an area of Peterborough which is experiencing significant and rapid local growth, where a care home would be a tremendous asset to the community.

“This care home would offer a best in class environment in an easily accessible and visible location, responding to a locally recognised need.”
