Mortgage Advice Bureau appoints head of protection excellence

Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) has strengthened its senior leadership team by appointing Alan Richardson as head of protection excellence.

Richardson will report to Andy Walton, protection proposition director at MAB.

He will help shape and deliver the firm’s protection proposition.

His responsibilities include developing strategies, plans and tactics to support sustainable revenue, profitability and quality outcomes.

He will also ensure Consumer Duty is central to the protection proposition.

Richardson will work closely with advisers to improve best practice, customer outcomes and the quality of protection advice.

Richardson said: “When mortgage brokers provide protection advice, ensuring strong customer outcomes, understanding, and confidence is essential.

“MAB is already doing this incredibly well, and my focus now is building on that success.

“This includes continuing to embed good outcomes, strengthen protection advice, and help more families and businesses access the cover they need with confidence.”

Walton said: “Protection advice is more important than ever, and Alan’s experience and focus on quality and Consumer Duty will be instrumental in helping us continue to lead the market.

“Alan brings significant experience in protection distribution and proposition development, and his appointment underlines MAB’s strategic focus on protection as a core pillar of its advice offering.”
