United Trust Bank has begun 2026 with a major expansion of its second charge mortgage proposition, introducing new ‘Super Prime’ and ‘Specialist’ product ranges alongside a series of rate revisions.

The enhanced second charge range now spans five distinct product tiers, designed to support a much broader spectrum of customer circumstances, from borrowers with pristine credit profiles to those with more complex or adverse credit histories.

The expansion is intended to help brokers place more cases and support customers who may be underserved by mainstream lenders, at a time when borrower profiles continue to evolve.

The new Super Prime range offers lending up to 90% loan-to-value (LTV) for customers with no County Court Judgements (CCJs) or defaults within the last 48 months.

The Specialist range provides lending up to 80% LTV for customers with up to two CCJs and two defaults registered within the last 24 months.

Alongside the new ranges, UTB has also enhanced its wider second charge proposition.

Customers benefit from fully digital E-Deeds and E-DDM, allowing mortgage deeds and direct debit mandates to be signed online without wet signatures.

Unlimited overpayments are available across the range, providing greater flexibility, while fees have been reduced, with loans below £60,000 now charged at £595 and no fees on loans up to £40,000.

The Prime range has been broadened to allow one CCJ or default within the last 24 months, high LTV options now extend up to 90%, automated valuation models are available up to 85% LTV, and loan sizes range from £25,000 up to £1,.

Andrew Ferguson (pictured), commercial director of mortgages, buy-to-let and bridging at United Trust Bank, said: “These additions to our second charge range give brokers even more opportunities to help their customers and place more cases, particularly those who fall outside of mainstream lenders’ criteria because of their circumstances or property type.
