Buckinghamshire Building Society has expanded its Credit Revive mortgage range with the launch of three new products aimed at supporting borrowers with historic credit issues, including buy-to-let (BTL) landlords and customers borrowing into later life.

The latest additions extend the Credit Revive proposition beyond its previous focus on residential purchase and remortgage cases.

The new products comprise a buy-to-let fixed rate at 5.69% to 31st May 2028 up to 75% loan-to-value (LTV), a limited company buy-to-let fixed rate at 5.89% to 31st May 2028 up to 75% LTV for special purpose vehicles (SPV) only, and a retirement-focused Credit Revive fixed rate at 5.79% to 31st May 2031 up to 70% LTV.

Credit Revive is designed for borrowers who have experienced historic credit challenges such as arrears, missed payments or county court judgments, but whose circumstances have since stabilised.

Applications are assessed on an individual basis, with manual underwriting used to build a full picture of each borrower’s situation.

By extending the range to landlords and later life borrowers, the society said it aims to provide greater access to mortgage finance for applicants who may be well placed to borrow today but remain constrained by past credit events.

The expansion reflects growing broker demand for products that recognise financial recovery rather than relying solely on automated credit scoring.

Claire Askham (pictured), head of mortgage sales at Buckinghamshire Building Society, said: “We know that brokers are working with more clients who have strong current affordability but still carry the legacy of past credit issues.

“This is about recognising recovery and making sure people aren’t shut out of the market because of a historic blip.

“Whether it’s a landlord rebuilding after a challenging few years or someone in later life looking for a fresh start, these products are about practical lending solutions that reflect where people are today, not where they’ve been previously. That’s what Credit Revive is designed to do.”
