Melton Building Society will launch a new mortgage range for foreign national applicants from Monday, 16th February 2026.

The products are aimed at borrowers who are living and working in the UK but do not hold permanent residency and wish to purchase a property.

The launch follows the society’s recent entry into the 100% loan-to-value (LTV) market.

The new range consists of two 5-year fixed-rate products at 80% loan-to-value (LTV).

One is priced at 5.29% with a £199 application fee and £999 completion fee, while the second is priced at 5.45% with a £199 application fee and no completion fee.

Melton said the products are intended to address demand from borrowers with more complex residency circumstances who may find it difficult to access mortgage finance through mainstream lenders.

Applications will be assessed using manual underwriting.

Jamie Hyland (pictured), head of product and marketing at Melton Building Society, said: “We recognise that foreign national borrowers can face unnecessary barriers when trying to obtain mortgage finance, despite having strong income and a right to live and work in the UK.

“This new range demonstrates our commitment to supporting brokers in helping more customers achieve home ownership through a common sense, manual underwriting approach.

“With the two fixed rate options we are introducing, we’re giving brokers the tools to support a broader range of clients and offer foreign national applicants the opportunity of achieving longer term stability and certainty.”
