Somo records strongest month on record as broker demand drives growth

Specialist lender Somo has reported its strongest month since launch, completing its highest ever number of lock-ins in February.

The figure represents a 16% increase on the lender’s previous record, driven by continued demand from brokers for fast and flexible funding solutions.

The performance follows the launch of its Landlord’s Breathing Space refinancing product in January.

Despite being newly introduced, the product has already gained traction, accounting for 12% of all enquiries within weeks of launch.

Somo said February’s results were also supported by a broker-exclusive promotion available to registered intermediaries.

The lender said the milestone reflects both the strength of its broker relationships and the ongoing expansion of its product range.

Jade Keval, sales director at Somo, said: “February was a fantastic month for the team and a clear reflection of the relationships we’ve built with brokers over the years, exceeding all targets and hitting a new PB. It’s also been brilliant to see the response to Landlord’s Breathing Space. Launching a new product and seeing it account for so many enquiries within weeks tells us we’ve tapped into a genuine need in the market.
