Progress Housing Group has appointed Green Homes Grant Installs to deliver a £5.85m programme of green upgrades to homes in the North West.

The three-year scheme is backed by the government’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund Wave 3 and will target homes that need the most improvement, aiming to bring all properties up to at least an energy performance certificate (EPC) rating of C.

The works will be delivered through the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Strategic Partner consortium, which includes 24 registered housing providers.

Funding is split between the Government grant and Progress Housing Group’s own investment.

Green Homes Grant Installs will carry out external wall insulation, install air source heat pumps, solar panels, cavity wall extraction and refill, upgrade loft insulation, improve ventilation, and fit low carbon heating systems.

These measures are designed to reduce heat loss, improve comfort and air quality, and help tenants save on energy bills, supporting the group’s wider plans for decarbonisation and reaching net zero.

Alex Forman, environmental sustainability manager at Progress Housing Group, said: “This programme represents a significant investment in the long-term quality and sustainability of our homes.

“By combining government funding with our own investment, we are able to deliver comprehensive retrofit works that will improve energy performance, reduce carbon emissions and support tenants with more affordable living.
