Dentists’ Provident appoints two dental professionals to board
Dentists’ Provident has strengthened its board with the appointment of dental professionals Rubina Fur and Alex Michael as non-executive directors.
Dentists’ Provident has appointed Rubina Fur and Alex Michael as non-executive directors, further strengthening the mutual insurer’s board with experienced dental professionals.
The appointments took effect this month and follow the retirement of Martyn Green and Alister Weightman, who stepped down from the board in May after 15 years of service.
Fur has worked in general dental practice since 1999 and previously served as a member of the Dental Board at Dental Protection. She holds a BDS from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry, as well as a postgraduate certificate in Dental Law and Ethics with commendation from the University of Bedfordshire.
Michael has worked in general dentistry since 2003 and has been principal dentist of a family-owned practice since 2005. His qualifications include a BDS from the University of Wales College of Medicine, a Master of Laws and a Diploma in Legal Medicine. He also practises as a dental expert witness.
Dentists’ Provident said the appointments reinforce its commitment to maintaining strong links with the profession it serves. The mutual insurer was founded by dental professionals and provides income protection cover for those working within the dental sector.
