Nick Hilton (pictured) is set to leave specialist property lender Glenhawk, having helped oversee its growth over the past eight years.

Hilton, who co-founded the lender alongside chief executive Guy Harrington in 2018, announced his departure, noting the business had achieved its core objective of becoming one of the leading players in the sector.

Since launch, Glenhawk has lent more than £1.5bn across the UK bridging and development finance market.

Hilton said: “We have achieved our core goal, to create one of the biggest UK lenders in this sector. We have lent over £1.5bn and personally I have now exceeded £2bn in my career.

“The time is now right for me to be moving on, and I leave the business in great hands and will remain as a founding shareholder and most importantly an advocate for the company moving forward.”

In his announcement, Hilton also paid tribute to colleagues, introducers and business partners who had supported the lender since its launch.

He added: “I honestly don’t know where to start my thank you’s. However, the main and obvious one is to all the staff who have worked with me over the years.
