YBS and Accord staff raise over £1m for charity partner
The overnight climb of Mount Snowdon, combined with previous fundraising, sponsorships and branch events, helped reach the milestone.
Colleagues from Yorkshire Building Society and Accord have raised over £1m for the Felix Project and FareShare after completing an overnight climb of Mount Snowdon.
More than 200 colleagues took part and raised £56,000 for the Building Skills for the Future employability programme.
This latest challenge, combined with previous fundraising, sponsorships and branch events, helped reach the milestone.
Susan Allen, CEO at Yorkshire Building Society, said: “We are incredibly proud to have reached our £1 million fundraising target.
“Colleagues across the organisation have shown outstanding commitment to this partnership, giving their time, energy and talents to help us achieve this milestone.
“The Snowdon challenge is a powerful example of that commitment in action.”
Allen added: “It brought colleagues together behind a shared purpose and pushed many beyond their comfort zones – an achievement that everyone involved should feel immensely proud of.
“Every pound raised will support The Felix Project and FareShare’s Building Skills for the Future programme, helping people build the skills and confidence they need to improve their circumstances and create brighter futures.”
