Mortgage searches up in June as market activity rebounds – Twenty7tec
Total searches hit 1,774,749 in June, up 7% compared with May and 2% higher than June 2025.
Mortgage searches picked up in June, with month-on-month and year-on-year volumes both rising across most lending categories, according to the latest Mortgage Market Snapshot from Twenty7tec.
Total searches hit 1,774,749 in June, up 7% compared with May and 2% higher than June 2025.
This was the first month this year to show growth both month-on-month and year-on-year.
Residential searches reached 1,499,462, rising 11% compared with May and 3% more than the same month last year.
Searches for residential purchases were up 8% month-on-month to 679,151, and saw a 5% year-on-year increase.
First-time buyer (FTB) searches climbed to 166,026, up 9% compared with May and 5% higher than June 2025.
Residential remortgage searches moved up to 654,285, a 14% increase month-on-month and 1% more than the same period last year.
Buy-to-let (BTL) searches also rose compared with May.
Total BTL searches increased 9% month on month to 275,284, with BTL purchase and remortgage searches both up 9%.
Year-on-year, though, total BTL searches were 5% lower than June 2025 and BTL purchase searches were down 14%.
Nakita Moss (pictured), head of lender at Twenty7tec, said: “Overall, June’s Mortgage Market Snapshot suggests the market regained momentum following the softer activity recorded in May.
“Search volumes increased across every major category month on month, while most residential categories also returned to year-on-year growth.
“Although buy-to-let activity remains below last year’s levels, June’s figures point to a market that continues to adapt as borrowers respond to changing economic conditions and ongoing lender competition.”
