SBS launches embedded AI platform for 1,500 financial institutions
The firm said SBS AI Foundation has been integrated into its core banking, lending and digital banking platforms, allowing banks to access generative AI capabilities.
SBS has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) platform embedded directly into its banking software, enabling more than 1,500 financial institutions to deploy AI across core operations without replacing existing systems.
The financial technology firm said SBS AI Foundation has been integrated into its core banking, lending and digital banking platforms, allowing banks to access generative AI capabilities using data already held within their own systems.
Built on the SBS Data Platform, the technology is designed to help financial institutions improve customer engagement and strengthen risk management while maintaining regulatory compliance.
SBS said the launch addresses a key challenge facing the sector, with only 34% of banks having successfully scaled AI across core functions such as regulatory reporting or credit decisioning.
The company said its embedded approach allows institutions to introduce AI without disrupting day-to-day operations, with data remaining within each organisation’s own environment.
Initial applications include Customer Engagement Intelligence, which provides relationship managers with customer insights ahead of interactions, and an AI Assistant for Banking Teams, designed to support staff by providing instant access to internal information.
Eric Bierry, chief executive of SBS, said: “SBS has a 50-year history working with our clients to ensure they have the technology and data that helps them best serve their customer base.
“When our clients started asking how to deploy AI safely, and to drive value for their business while meeting regulatory requirements, we built the answer into the platforms they already run on.”
