Step One Finance is set to launch a new intermediary originations platform aimed at streamlining the application process and improving the broker journey.

The specialist second charge lender said the platform has been developed in response to intermediary feedback and is designed to reduce administration, improve transparency and create a smoother process from initial quote through to completion.

New features include a streamlined application journey using credit reference agency data, electronic identification, e-sign enabled documentation across all products, self-service broker account administration and greater flexibility throughout the application process.

The lender has also introduced a free automated valuation model (AVM) at the Quick Quote stage for all properties in England and Wales.

Brokers will receive an instant lending decision alongside the valuation, allowing them to assess whether a case is likely to meet Step One Finance’s lending criteria before submitting a full application.

“By delivering a more streamlined and intuitive origination journey, we are reducing friction for brokers, enhancing customer experience.

“The platform has also been designed to support consistent decision-making, improve the quality of information captured and strengthen governance through the application process.
