Chartway and Hyde begin work on 135-home affordable scheme in Sittingbourne
The Swanstree Avenue scheme will deliver a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes for affordable rent and shared ownership, with the partners saying it will help meet growing demand for affordable housing in Swale.
Chartway Partnerships Group and Hyde have started construction on a 135-home affordable housing development in Sittingbourne.
The Swanstree Avenue scheme will deliver a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes for affordable rent and shared ownership, with the partners saying it will help meet growing demand for affordable housing in Swale.
All homes will be built to Energy Performance (EPC) A standards and include air source heat pumps, solar panels and electric vehicle charging points.
The development will also feature sustainable drainage systems, landscaped public open space, children’s play areas, biodiversity enhancements and new pedestrian and cycle links.
The project is being delivered by Chartway in partnership with Hyde, Homes England and Swale Borough Council.
Construction is now underway, with the show home expected to open in spring 2027.
The first homes are due to be completed shortly afterwards, with the development scheduled for completion in summer 2028.
