FIBA launches BTL education programme following member feedback
Taking place every Friday throughout August at 10:00am, the Buy-to-Let (BTL) Webinar Box Set series forms the first stage of FIBA's wider education programme.
The Financial Intermediary & Broker Association (FIBA) has launched a Buy-to-Let (BTL) Webinar Box Set, a four-part educational series designed to help brokers navigate the increasingly complex landlord and specialist property finance market.
Taking place every Friday throughout August at 10:00am, the webinars form the first stage of FIBA’s wider education programme, developed in direct response to feedback from its members.
Recent research conducted by FIBA revealed strong demand for a blend of larger face-to-face events and accessible virtual learning opportunities.
Members highlighted the value of concise, practical sessions that could be accessed regardless of location, reflecting the geographical spread of theaAssociation’s membership across the UK.
The Buy-to-Let Box Set will be jointly hosted by FIBA and Roger Morris, group distribution director at CHL Mortgages.
The series will also feature specialist guest speakers, including John McCaffrey, tax partner at Manchester-based Alexander & Co.
Over four sessions, the webinar programme will examine key areas of the buy-to-let sector, including: An overview of the current buy-to-let landscape, ownership structures for landlords, a comprehensive guide to houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) and multi-unit freehold blocks (MUFBs), the impact of the Renters’ Rights Act and bridging finance and equity acceleration strategies.
In addition, the series will touch on refurbishment buy-to-let opportunities, cross charging, holiday lets, let-to-buy solutions, as well as landlord engagement and retention.
CPD will be available for each session.

Morris added: “Buy-to-let continues to evolve at pace. Changes in regulation, taxation and landlord behaviour are creating new opportunities and challenges for brokers.
“This is perfect timing for the release of this educational partnership with FIBA as we see continued professionalisation of landlords post the introduction of Renters Rights, a growing demand for specialist property finance advice, plus the increased complexity around ownership structures and taxation.
“These sessions are designed to provide practical guidance and real-world insight that advisers can apply immediately with their landlord clients.”
