Signicat secures UK digital identity certification

Signicat has achieved certification against the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework (DIATF) for its NFC-based identity and identity document verification technology and orchestration services.

The certification follows an independent audit by the Kantara Initiative and covers Signicat’s solutions for Right to Work, Right to Rent and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks in the UK.

The DIATF sets rules and standards for organisations providing digital identity and attribute services, with certification designed to demonstrate that providers meet specified requirements around areas including security and privacy.

Signicat said the certification comes as the framework, under the guidance of the Office for Digital Identities and Attributes, takes on a key role in the future adoption of digital identity services in the UK.
