Housing provider Stonewater has secured a £350m funding allocation from Homes England.

The funding will support delivery of affordable homes across England, with a major focus on rural communities.

Jonathan Layzell (pictured), CEO of Stonewater, said: “This is fantastic news for Stonewater and the communities we serve.

“Securing our largest-ever allocation through the Social and Affordable Homes Programme is a strong endorsement of our ambition, capability and proven ability to deliver the homes people need.

Layzell added: “We’re particularly pleased that our plans include a strong focus on rural communities.

“We recently heard from a family who moved into a new Stonewater home in Somerset.

“They previously struggled with feelings of isolation, but now are thriving in a vibrant rural community they wouldn’t have been able to live in had it not been for affordable housing.”
