Swansea Building Society completes £25k anniversary charity fund with £3k donation to YMCA Cardiff
The donation completes the society's anniversary fund, which has seen £20,000 awarded to Faith in Families, £2,000 donated to Llys Nini and now £3,000 presented to YMCA Cardiff.
Swansea Building Society has announced that the final £3,000 from the special £25,000 charitable fund established to mark chief executive Alun Williams’ 25 years leading the society will be donated to YMCA Cardiff.
The donation completes the society’s anniversary fund, which has seen £20,000 awarded to Faith in Families, £2,000 donated to Llys Nini and now £3,000 presented to YMCA Cardiff.
The charity was selected in recognition of the life-changing work it carries out supporting some of the most vulnerable people in the community, helping individuals overcome challenges and realise their potential.
Williams said: “When we established this £25,000 fund, we wanted it to celebrate not just my 25 years with the Society, but the values that have always been at the heart of Swansea Building Society – supporting the communities we serve and helping organisations that make a genuine difference to people’s lives.
“YMCA Cardiff has an outstanding reputation for providing practical support, opportunities and hope to people facing difficult circumstances. The work it carries out every day transforms lives, and we are delighted to be able to support the charity through this final donation from the anniversary fund.
“It has been a privilege to see this fund benefit three outstanding charities, each making an incredible contribution in very different ways, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped make these donations possible.”
