The Mortgage Brain has reported turnover of just over £8m for the financial year ending June 2026, representing growth of more than 21% from £6.6m in 2025.

The mortgage broker said turnover increased by £1.4m during the year and that it remains on track to arrange £1.5bn of mortgages in 2026.

The business attributed much of the growth to a change in strategy across its protection and general insurance divisions. Mortgage brokers now focus solely on mortgage advice and performance, while dedicated teams handle protection and home insurance.

The Mortgage Brain now has an 18-strong team of protection specialists and eight general insurance advisers.

Enzo Mora, chief executive officer and founder of The Mortgage Brain, said: “We are delighted with the progress the business has made over the past year. Increasing our turnover by over 20% in one year is a significant achievement and due to a deliberate change in strategy for our Protection and General Insurance divisions. Previously, our mortgage brokers were responsible for mortgages, protection and home insurance.

“We have moved to a specialist model under which our mortgage brokers concentrate on mortgage advice and performance, while dedicated teams focus on the other areas.

“We now have an 18-strong team of Protection Specialists and eight General Insurance advisers. This greater specialisation has strengthened the experience and advice we provide, improved client outcomes and driven the substantial growth in our Protection and General Insurance income.

“Our focus is now on building on that momentum. We’re on track to arrange £1.5bn worth of mortgages in 2026. Given the significant economic and geopolitical uncertainty throughout the year, I see maintaining this level of mortgage lending as a very positive performance within our sector.

“It demonstrates that our core mortgage business remains strong. We’ve set ourselves the target of reaching £12m in turnover by June 2028.”

The results follow The Mortgage Brain’s partnership with BetterHome Group, South Africa’s largest mortgage broker, announced last year to support its five-year growth plan and expand its digital offering.
