Dudley Building Society opens Bromsgrove branch to support growth

Dudley Building Society has opened a new branch in Bromsgrove as part of plans to expand its funding base and support future lending through the intermediary market.
The society’s seventh branch is expected to help attract additional retail savings, providing greater capacity to lend through intermediaries over time.
The Bromsgrove branch will also run community activity under the ‘Putting the Heart Back in the High Street’ banner, working with local residents, businesses, schools and community groups.
It will also provide a base for the society’s ‘Prosper’ programme, bringing together local business leaders and people from the community through structured mentoring.
The branch opening will be followed by an official launch event on 5th October involving representatives from Dudley Building Society and the local community.
Paul Purewal (pictured), head of intermediary relations at Dudley Building Society, said: “Opening in Bromsgrove is another clear indication of our ambition for Dudley Building Society.
“By growing our branch network and attracting more retail savings, we are building a stronger funding base that could give us greater capacity to lend through the broker market.”
He added: “Our growth plans go beyond the branch network. We want to expand the business in a sustainable way so that we are well placed to continue developing our intermediary proposition, supporting brokers and building on the individual underwriting, responsive service and support they expect from us.
“Branches and intermediaries therefore have complementary roles in our strategy. Brokers give us strong national reach, while branches deepen our relationships with savers and the communities we serve.
“Bromsgrove will allow us to do both: support our longer-term lending ambitions and become an active part of the town.”
