Plentific launches Awaab’s Law Phase 2 readiness guide
The Roadmap to Readiness guide provides a framework for landlords to assess their operations, identify gaps and make improvements before the legislation comes into force.
Plentific has launched a guide to help landlords prepare for Phase 2 of Awaab’s Law, which is due to take effect on 30th November 2026.
The Roadmap to Readiness guide provides a framework for landlords to assess their operations, identify gaps and make improvements before the legislation comes into force.
Phase 2 will cover hazards including excess cold and heat, fire and electrical risks, falls and structural collapse.
The wider scope is expected to place more demand on housing providers, with compliance involving teams, systems, contractors and processes across their organisations.
The guide applies McKinsey’s 7S Framework to seven areas of organisational readiness.
It also covers lessons from Phase 1 and the use of connected data, automated workflows and outcome-focused triage to prioritise cases.
Cem Savas, CEO of Plentific, said: “The introduction of Awaab’s Law marked an important step forward for the social housing sector, as it reinforced what has always been true: providing safe, decent homes is one of our most fundamental responsibilities.
“As we move towards the implementation of Phase 2, however, the challenge changes quite profoundly.
“Success will depend not only on responding within prescribed timescales, but on ensuring that leadership, governance, people, processes, systems and delivery partners work together consistently to achieve the right outcome for every resident.”
Savas added: “The sector’s greatest challenges will most likely emerge where responsibilities, information and decision-making intersect across the organisation.
“Meeting the expectations of Phase 2 will require providers to think beyond individual departments and consider how effectively the organisation operates as a whole.”
