Accord Mortgages is giving all its colleagues an early Christmas gift this year with an extra day off for the festive break.
Colleagues are being given Christmas Eve off for the second year running, in recognition of going above and beyond in their roles throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. The gesture means they will receive a five-day break from the office, before returning to work on Wednesday 29 December.
Brokers are being reminded to plan ahead if they’re likely to need to contact the intermediary-only lender as all call centres will be closed during these dates.
Jeremy Duncombe, managing director at Accord Mortgages, said: “I’m immensely proud of the excellent team here who, despite their own challenges during the pandemic, continued to do all they could to support brokers and their clients.
“By giving this advance notice, we hope this reduces any impact on brokers and helps encourage them to conduct any urgent business with us before the 23rd. I’m sure they understand why we have made this decision to recognise the efforts from our team.
“We wish everyone across the intermediary market a fantastic festive break.”
Accord, which is part of Yorkshire Building Society, focused on supporting brokers, their clients and its colleagues throughout the pandemic, prioritising keeping people in their homes and looking after colleagues’ health and wellbeing.
The lender also offered colleagues unlimited dependents and carers leave at full pay, and anyone who had to shield, was unwell or needed to self-isolate and could not work from home qualified for paid sick leave at their full salary.
