Industry stalwart Roger Morris (pictured) has left Precise Mortgages after more than a decade with the lender.
Morris is well known in the industry having been in financial services since the early 1990’s.
A buy-to-let landlord himself he has been a long-term champion of the sector.
He departs as the lender as director of sales having been with the lender since it launched in 2011.
As director of sales at Precise, he was part of the team that successfully merged with OneSavings Bank (OSB) in March 2020.
At OSB Morris was initially group distribution director before becoming group lending engagement director in January this year.
Amongst his previous roles Morris was sales and marketing director at short-term finance lender Affirmative.
Prior to that he was managing director of packager em financial, which he founded with Simon Mouncher.
The top five packager was one of the first to offer online DIP and case tracking amongst other innovations.
He was also a founding member of the Professional Mortgage Packaging Association (PMPA) and the Regulated Association of Mortgage Packagers (RAMP).
Morris announced his exit on LinkedIn. He said: “Having devoted the past 12 years to help build one of the most successful specialist lender groups in the UK, I feel that it is the right time to step away from OSB Group and seek new challenges in the industry I love.
“Helping to build Precise Mortgages into the specialist lending powerhouse it became and then assisting in its integration into OSB Group have been the passions of much of the latter part of my business life. I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute as well as gaining the friendship and support of many of the best people in the industry in both the lender and intermediary channels.
“My move away from OSB was motivated by the recognition that I have done everything I can to help bring the business to this point in its journey and now is the time to seek fresh stimulus elsewhere. In other words, time for a change!
“I have great knowledge of distribution, strategic planning and implementation, as well as having demonstrated conclusively how training and education of those involved in the customer journey can have such a positive influence on how intermediaries view the lenders with whom I have worked over many years.
“My passion for the industry remains undiminished and I have a completely open mind as to my next destination. Therefore, I look forward to having many positive discussions with those business leaders who feel they can truly make use of my skills.”
