A “fiscal event” to set out Government funding for a set of major interventions in the cost-of-living crisis will still take place this month.
New Prime Minister Liz Truss had been hoping the announce the mini-budget this week but has been forced to delay following the death of Queen Elizabeth the II.
The Prime MInister and her Chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng had promised to unveil tax cuts in a fiscal statement within weeks.
However, things have understandably been delayed following the death of the Queen and the Prime Minister still needs to complete the appointment of her Government Ministers.
It now looks like the fiscal event will take place either on Thursday or Friday of next week or earlier the week after.
