Craig Calder is set to join Virgin Money as its new head of secured lending, starting in January 2023.
With over 20 years’ experience in the mortgage industry, he joins Virgin Money from Barclays, where he was head of mortgage products and intermediaries.
In that role he was responsible for all product proposition and development as well as the intermediary relationship management teams.
He previously held senior mortgage roles at Alliance and Leicester and Natwest.
As head of secured lending Calder will be responsible for growing Virgin Money’s mortgage business, offered direct and through intermediaries across both residential and buy-to-let markets.
Calder said: “It’s clear that Virgin Money have exciting things to come in mortgages. Their brand strength, market position and future plans present a great opportunity to help customers at an important time for the mortgage sector.”
Hugh Chater, chief commercial officer at Virgin Money, added: “Craig brings significant specialist experience and expertise to the commercial team at Virgin Money. I am confident that he will accelerate the transformation of our mortgage business.”
