Subject to regulatory approval, Principality Building Society has appointed Rajeev Marwaha as chief risk officer (CRO) to replace Mike Jones (pictured), who retires next month.
Marwaha, the former CRO at Saffron Building Society, has an extensive career in finance, including risk roles at Nationwide and Santander, as well as being the CRO of credit card fintech group Tymit.
Julie-Ann Haines, CEO at Principality, said: “I’m so pleased to welcome a talented chief risk officer in Raj to our team…His appointment is tinged with sadness, however, as it means we say goodbye to Mike Jones, who is a well-respected and much-loved member of the Principality family.”
Marwaha expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, saying: “I’m so happy to be joining one of the leading building societies in the UK…I can’t wait to get started and to meet my new colleagues.”
Jones, who has been with Principality for 25 years, concluded: “It has been a privilege to serve our members for the past 25 years and to help grow the business during that time…I hope they, and Principality, go from strength to strength.”
