Royal London signs Armed Forces Covenant

Life, pensions and investment mutual Royal London has signed the Armed Forces Covenant.

The agreement formalised Royal London’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community and recognised the contribution that serving military personnel, veterans and their families have made and continue to make to the country.

The covenant was signed by Barry O’Dwyer, group chief executive of Royal London, and Air Vice-Marshal Ranald Munro CBE, TD, VR, DL, Commander United Kingdom Strategic Command, on behalf of the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

Royal London partnered with the MoD, demonstrating its intention to support the Armed Forces community, and to be recognised by the Employer Recognition Scheme award.

O’Dwyer said: “We recognise the contribution that service personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families make to our organisation, our community and to the country.

“It’s a privilege to sign the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of Royal London.

“We know we have reservists and veterans as colleagues, but it’s also important to make a commitment to advocate for those customers that are and were service personnel.

“We are proud to be an employer, with a supportive culture for the armed forces community.”

Munro said: “We are very proud and privileged to be able to welcome another employer as a valued partner to the Defence Family. Congratulations and thank you.”
