Norwich-based mortgage broker, Yellow Brick Mortgages, announced today that it has donated a total of £11,830 from its commissions on completed mortgages over the past six months to its three local charity partners. This brings the company’s total charitable contributions to over £75,000 in the five years they have been operating.
The brokerage, renowned for its focus on exceptional customer service and community engagement, donates £10 from every completed mortgage to one of its three charity partners.
The clients themselves choose which charity benefits from their mortgage application. The three charities include Nelson’s Journey, a children’s bereavement charity, Big C, Norfolk’s Cancer Charity, and PACT Animal Sanctuary.
Hayley Simmons, office manager at PACT Animal Sanctuary, expressed gratitude for the support, especially given the initial decline in donations due to Covid and the impact of the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. “On behalf of all the animals here at the Sanctuary, thank you for caring and for your continued support,” she said.
Yellow Brick Mortgages’ commitment to giving back extends beyond financial contributions. The company also plants a tree upon the completion of every mortgage, offers fee-free advice to NHS staff, and invests over £80,000 in local grass-roots sponsorships.
Managing director Stephen Perkins reflected the company’s ethos, saying, “We only care about providing an exceptional client experience and giving back to our community. We have no targets except giving a 5-star service to every client. We are delighted to continually help our charity partners with every mortgage that we complete.”
Simon Wright, chief executive of Nelson’s Journey, also expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from Yellow Brick Mortgages, acknowledging that it makes a real difference to the work they do with bereaved children at a time of high demand for their services.
The brokerage’s contributions have provided much-needed support to local charities, allowing them to plan and budget ahead with greater certainty. The company has announced that it plans to make its next set of donations in January 2024 and hopes to increase the amounts at that time.
