Savills plc names Stacey Cartwright as chair, succeeding Nicholas Ferguson

Real estate services provider Savills plc has announced that Stacey Cartwright will take over as chair from Nicholas Ferguson, who is retiring from the Board, effective 31 December 2023.

Cartwright has been a part of Savills since October 2018 as an independent non-executive director and has served as the senior independent director since January 2021.

She brings a wealth of leadership experience to her new role, having previously served as the chief executive officer and deputy chair of Harvey Nichols plc from 2014 to 2018, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Burberry plc from 2004 to 2013, and chief financial officer of Egg plc from 1999 to 2003. In addition to her role at Savills, Cartwright also currently holds non-executive director positions at AerCap Holdings N.V., Genpact Ltd, Gymshark, and Majid al Futtaim (MAF) Entertainment.

Mark Ridley, chief executive officer of Savills, expressed gratitude to Ferguson for his contributions to the company and looked forward to working with Cartwright. “On behalf of everyone at Savills, I thank Nicholas for his leadership of the Board since 2016 and for the huge contribution he has made to the development of the Company over the past seven years.

Outgoing chair, Ferguson, also expressed his satisfaction with the appointment, stating: “I am delighted that Savills has appointed Stacey Cartwright to succeed me as Chair. Over the last seven years, the Group has made huge progress and I am proud of the strong platform for future growth that we have built.”
