She has a background in clinical mental health, having experience working in the NHS and within Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services.

Watson has gained an MSc in Clinical Mental Health Science and has undertaken CPD in counselling and a variety of other therapeutic approaches.

She is an employee of Spectrum.Life and, via the partnership announced earlier this year, will now work on a full-time basis, dedicated to supporting Legal & General Group Protection.

Spectrum.Life is a leading digital mental health and wellbeing platform provider, which aims to remove wellbeing complexity and evolve the traditional EAP concept.

Its partnership with Legal & General Group Protection brings a new digital, integrated wellbeing solution to all existing and new clients, strengthening its Be Well. Get Better. Be Supported. wellbeing framework.

In her capacity as the Mental Health Promotion Officer, Watson will work in close partnership with Legal & General Group Protection’s intermediaries and clients, collaborating to establish proactive strategies that foster mental wellbeing.

Furthermore, she will actively engage with intermediaries and clients to provide tailored resources, educational initiatives, and expert guidance.

The focus of which will be carefully designed to help them understand the data trends for that organisation. Her collaborative approach will empower individuals to take control of their mental health, equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to lead fulfilling lives.

Watson said: “I am very passionate about furthering mental health and wellbeing awareness, and I’m excited to bring my skills and enthusiasm to this new partnership with Legal & General.

“I look forward to seeing the great things we will achieve together.”

James Walker, head of product and proposition at Legal & General Group Protection, added: “When we launched our partnership with Spectrum.Life we said that we wanted to take the EAP concept to the next level, removing fragmentation and unnecessary complexity across all aspects of wellbeing.

“Bringing Jenni into the Legal & General team, as part of that partnership, represents our ongoing dedication to that goal. And we’re absolutely delighted to welcome her to the team.”

He continued: “Employee communication is a critical piece of the jigsaw that is so often overlooked, due to a lack of time and resource, ending up relegated to something that is one-off and one-size-fits-all.

“Employers want help from the insurance industry. Our own research asked employers what would help them better integrate employee benefits with a wellbeing strategy and ‘customised communication’ came out top.

“We also asked what would most help with their communication strategy on health and wellbeing. The top answer was ‘help from employee benefit providers to ensure employees know what’s available to them.

“We look forward to working with clients and intermediaries to provide this much needed support.”

Dr. Emelina Ellis, chief clinical operations officer at Spectrum.Life, concluded: ‘’I’m thrilled to introduce Jenni as a member of our clinical team who has joined Legal & General as the mental health promotion officer.

“We proudly recognise the vital role this position plays in working alongside our partners to foster mental health, empower individuals, and positively transform lives.

“The appointment of Jenni signifies our commitment to delivering comprehensive and integrated support to our clientele.

“We firmly believe that the addition of Jenni to the Legal & General team will have a significant positive impact on the wellbeing and health of their clients.

“By prioritising mental health promotion and integrating it into our services, we aim to break down barriers, reduce stigma, and foster a culture of proactive self-care and resilience.’’
