YBS Commercial Mortgages has appointed Angela Norman (pictured) as interim managing director.
She moves from her existing role as head of lending for YBS Commercial, where she has managed the lending teams, focusing on enhancing the support provided for portfolio landlords and owner-occupier businesses.
Norman replaces Tom Simpson, who stepped into the role of interim chief commercial officer for Yorkshire Building Society.
His remit will cover all brands including Yorkshire Building Society, Accord and YBS Commercial Mortgages.
Norman joined the business in June from Recognise Bank and has experience of the commercial finance landscape, having worked in the industry for over 25 years.
She said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to play an even bigger role in driving the YBS Commercial business forward.
“It’s an exciting point in our growth journey, and I’ve been blown away with the team’s determination and commitment to deliver for our brokers and customers.
“A key priority since I’ve been with the business has been to focus on enhancing the customer journey, listening to and acting on crucial feedback from brokers and colleagues.
“We remain committed to making changes to how we operate to create better customer experiences, as well as offering a strong alternative to the big banks with our experienced teams on the ground and purposeful propositions, which support local businesses and their communities.”
She added: “I’m looking forward to leading this fantastic team, growing the workforce and driving the business forward to deliver our ambitious growth plans.”
Norman will be replaced as interim head of lending by Mike Davies, who is currently head of business development for YBS Commercial.
He said: “I’m looking forward to working more closely with Angela and our regional teams.
“I believe that bringing our business development and relationship teams together creates a more joined up approach and will ensure that we are set up to provide an even better service for our brokers and clients.”
