Yorkshire Building Society celebrates £10m in charity donations

Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation has surpassed £10m in donations to charities across the UK.

The foundation, which began its contributions in 1999, has provided financial support to thousands of good causes, thanks to the generosity of the societ’s members.

The foundation recently launched the Building Bradford Skills Fund, which will offer £1m in grants to charities located in Bradford’s most deprived areas to enhance employability.

Laura Newton, trustee for Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation, said: “Since 1999 the Charitable Foundation has given fantastic support to charities and good causes up and down the country.

“We are delighted to be able to support charities in communities where Yorkshire Building Society colleagues and members live and work, and in communities local to its branches and agencies.

“It’s a real privilege to have seen the donations make a difference locally and it’s thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Society’s members that we have been able to reach the £10 million milestone for donations made, and continue to support charities in the future. It shows that small change really can make a big difference.”
