Legal & General announces leadership changes as part of growth strategy

Legal & General (L&G) has announced two key appointments to its Group Management Committee, as part of its strategy to simplify and strengthen its leadership.

Laura Mason has been appointed as CEO of the Retail division, effective from December, succeeding Bernie Hickman.

Katie Worgan will join as group chief operating officer in early 2025.

Mason, currently CEO of L&G’s Private Markets business, brings extensive experience across the Group, while Worgan, joining from Lloyds Banking Group, will oversee operations, technology, and data strategy. Both appointments are subject to regulatory approval.

L&G’s CEO, António Simões, praised both leaders, saying: “Laura’s expertise will drive profitable growth in Retail, while Katie’s global mindset and technical expertise will help us achieve operational excellence.”
