The Bank of England has appointed Sarah John, formerly the chief cashier, as its new chief operating officer (COO).
Victoria Cleland will take over John’s role as chief cashier while maintaining her duties as the executive director for payments.
This move comes as Ben Stimson, the current chief operating officer, prepares to leave for his new role as chief executive officer (CEO) of Southern Coop.
Andrew Bailey, governor of the Bank of England, said: “The new roles for Sarah and Victoria are reflective of their impressive leadership qualities, commitment to delivery and capabilities in helping the Bank fulfil its mission.
“I also want to wish Ben the very best for his future endeavours outside the Bank.”
