The Intermediary has confirmed that its National Mortgage Awards – Second Charge event will return for a second year, following the success of the inaugural event in November 2024.
The 2025 ceremony will take place on 23rd October at a new venue: the Underglobe, situated beneath Shakespeare’s Globe on the Thames.
The move followed the temporary closure of last year’s venue, RIBA, which is undergoing renovation.
The Underglobe, known for its unique setting and striking atmosphere, will now host the awards as they build on the success of the first event.
The National Mortgage Awards – Second Charge was launched in 2024 to spotlight the achievements of lenders, brokers, and service providers across the second charge mortgage sector.
The 2024 black tie event saw winners recognised across more than 20 categories, led by celebrity host and former England Rugby star Martin Bayfield (pictured), with the afterparty DJed by 80s icon Pat Sharp.
Ryan Fowler, managing director at Astor Media, said: “The response to the first National Mortgage Awards – Second Charge was incredibly positive, and we’re looking forward to raising the bar again this year.
“The Underglobe offers a fantastic setting and gives us the flexibility to evolve the format while keeping the focus firmly on recognising excellence in the second charge space.”
Martin Davies, events director at Astor Media, added: “We’re excited to bring the awards to the Underglobe.
“It’s a venue with real character and it allows us to create a memorable evening for everyone involved. Further details, including the entry and judging process, will be announced in the coming weeks.”
