PIMFA to host second annual Women’s Symposium

PIMFA is set to host its second annual women’s symposium next week in London, with Emma Reynolds MP delivering the keynote address.

The two-day event was launched to address low numbers of women in leadership roles, currently sitting at 36% in financial services, and looking at ways to attract more female talent across wealth management and financial advice.

Attendees from across the sector are expected, with more than 500 delegates and 75 speakers due over the two days.

The agenda includes topics such as personal development, company culture, investment, and practice management.

Speakers will include Justine Randall, chief commercial officer at Tatton Investment Management, Ashling Cashmore, head of impact and advisory at the Charities Aid Foundation, and Alex Daly, chair of the council for investing in female entrepreneurs.

The event is seen as a practical measure towards structural change in the industry.

Liz Field, chief executive at PIMFA, said: “This isn’t about box-ticking or internal comms campaigns – it’s about tackling the persistent cultural and structural barriers that hold the industry back.

“Our own research has consistently shown that women are not only underrepresented in leadership roles but also feel less confident in their own financial futures.

“That disconnect impacts not just our workforce, but the clients we serve.”

Field added: “The Women’s Symposium is about creating a collaborative environment where professionals can share best practice and take real steps toward building a fairer, more inclusive industry.”
