Nottingham Building Society has appointed Aaron Shinwell as its new chief lending officer.

Shinwell joins the 175-year-old mutual from Santander UK, where he was commercial director – homes, responsible for overseeing mortgage strategy, pricing, proposition development, and portfolio management.

During his time at Santander, he managed the commercial, customer and transformation priorities for the mortgage business with approximately 1.8 million customers, £167bn outstanding balances and was instrumental in delivering approximately £55bn of lending to new and existing customers annually.
