Protection Guru, the specialist technical information and product research service for financial advisers, has promoted Jessie Leworthy (pictured) to customer success specialist.
Leworthy joined the Protection Guru team as an intern in 2022 whilst studying a BA in banking and finance at Northampton University.
After completing her degree she moved into a full-time role as a communications coordinator.
During that time, she was responsible for reshaping the company’s social media presence, updating and monitoring content and product updates across all FTRC product websites, coordinating the bi-monthly virtual forums for Consumer Duty Alliance members and the monthly AdviserSoftware.com tech forums.
In 2023 Leworthy was awarded “Trainee of the Year” at the European Fintech Awards in 2023.
In her new position, she will play a vital role in the future growth and success of Protection Guru Pro, supporting the sales process and helping advisers understand and make the most of the platform’s capabilities.
Ian McKenna, founder of Protection Guru, said: “Jessie’s appointment is a great example of the success of our approach in recruiting financial services undergraduates as interns.
“It demonstrates how well positioned we are to prepare them for practical roles within the industry and in Jessie’s case, how that pathway has led to her becoming a valuable member of our full-time team.
“In the three years she has been with us Jessie has shown her potential as a rising star in our industry.
“She continues to go from strength to strength and I am delighted to see her take up this new role. Like so many others in our team she has a passion for protection.”
Leworthy said: “It has been a great three years, joining the company first as an intern and then turning full time.
“The whole team here have been really supportive in my journey, and I am delighted to be taking on this wider role in the Protection Guru business which will enable me to focus on an area I really care about, making sure more people, families and businesses are properly protected.”
