The Exeter appoints Karen Senior as company secretary

UK health and life insurer, The Exeter, has announced the appointment of Karen Senior (pictured) as company secretary.

Senior succeeds Zoe Kubiak, who has retired after six years in the role.

She joins The Exeter with more than two decades of experience in company secretarial and legal roles across a range of sectors, including the music industry, financial services and utilities.

She has held senior governance positions within the Capita group, and at Pennon Group, PRS for Music and Zurich UK Life.

A Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (FCG), Senior most recently served as company secretary at Virgin Money Investments (VMI), where she played a key role in supporting corporate actions and governance reviews.

At The Exeter, Senior will report directly to chief risk officer Gary Warman and will focus on upholding the mutual’s commitment to high standards of governance, ensuring the organisation continues to meet its legal and regulatory obligations.

She will also play a key role in supporting The Exeter’s board and executive leadership team.

Warman said: “I am pleased to welcome Karen to The Exeter as our new company secretary. Karen brings a wealth of experience across Company Secretarial and legal roles and will play an important role in the future success of The Exeter.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Zoe Kubiak for her enormous contribution during her six years at The Exeter and I wish her the very best for her retirement.”

Senior added: “I am delighted to be joining The Exeter as company secretary, an exciting role that will help to bring continued success to the organisation in the coming years.

“The Exeter’s status as a mutual insurer and its collaborative culture were key reasons for me joining.

“I look forward to working closely with colleagues across the business to deliver future growth whilst providing our members with the best possible experiences and outcomes.”
